Osterra Pacific Port
Founded in 2004, Osterra Pacific Port is located in the deepwater Muchke Bay in Vanino, Khabarovsk Region, and can accommodate vessels with up to 200,000 tons deadweight.
It is one of the nation’s largest and most modern bulk ports, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability.
Osterra Pacific Port serves as a year-round gateway to the Asia-Pacific region.
The port handles 32.8 million tons of coal per year, with potential to increase to 40 million tons. It features five open storage yards totaling 211,918 m², with a simultaneous storage capacity of up to 1.2 million tons of coal.
The port can handle 1,025 railcars per day, with a maximum unloading capacity of 1,400 railcars per day.
Number of berths — 2. A 292-meter dual-sided pier is used for vessel loading and can accommodate ships with a deadweight of up to 200,000 tons, a draft of 18.5 m on the east side and 17.5 m on the west side, and a beam of up to 50 m.
The port is equipped with specialized technology, including railcar dumpers, stacker-reclaimers, ship loaders, railcar heating systems, and equipment for cutting frozen cargo.
The company has developed a unique self-propelled system that cuts monolithic frozen coal blocks directly inside gondola railcars, effectively solving the problem of frozen cargo. It also employs a railcar thawing system equipped with infrared emitters.
The port’s own railway infrastructure stretches over 45.13 km, with all receiving and departure tracks capable of handling trains weighing up to 7,100 tons.
